The Merchant Maverick Opportunity Grants Program is a critical part of our mission to spark positive change in the small business space. Its only purpose is to provide funding to businesses that experience barriers to traditional financing. While many groups find it difficult to obtain traditional bank lending or venture capital investment, the 2024 Opportunity Grant will be awarded to five young entrepreneurs.
Kids may not have long credit histories or tons of capital, but they do have great ideas and the energy, vision, and creativity to make a business work.
Funding Information
- Five winners will be selected for these $2K grants, and the winning business owners will be notified in mid-July.
Who can apply?
- Any business majority-run by a minor child between the ages of 10-18 that operates on US soil is eligible to apply for one of the Merchant Maverick Opportunity Grants. The business must have been operating for at least six months as of April 8th, 2024.
- You must confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements below to open the full application. Please read the instructions carefully, as incomplete applications will not be accepted. Note that the grant funds will be issued directly to the minor child via check or ACH deposit. The child or business must have their own/its own bank account to be eligible; they will not distribute funds to parent or guardian accounts.
