UnLtd Awards provide funding and support to passionate social entrepreneurs who are committed to creating meaningful social impact in the UK.
The programme focuses on supporting early-stage and growing social ventures through Starting Up and Scaling Up Awards, offering financial assistance for social venture costs and, in some cases, social entrepreneur living costs, while ensuring ventures are purpose-driven, address a clear social need, benefit UK communities, go beyond awareness-raising, and demonstrate potential for financial sustainability.
The UnLtd Awards are designed to help individuals turn their ideas into impactful social ventures or expand existing initiatives. The Starting Up Award offers funding of up to £8,000 to support early-stage ventures, helping founders establish and develop their ideas. Similarly, the Scaling Up Award provides up to £18,000 for ventures that are ready to grow, covering both operational expenses and, where applicable, the living costs of the entrepreneur.
These awards are available under programmes such as the Millennium Awards Trust and the Funding Futures Programme, both aimed at empowering social entrepreneurs with the financial and non-financial support needed to succeed. Applicants must be founders or leaders of their ventures and should demonstrate a strong need for both funding and additional support.
Eligibility requires applicants to be currently living in the UK with the right to work, and their ventures must primarily benefit people or communities within the UK. The initiative emphasizes ventures that are clearly driven by a social purpose and capable of creating long-term impact rather than simply raising awareness.
To qualify, the social venture must have been incorporated for less than four years and should not have previously received the same type of award for the same venture. This ensures that support reaches new and emerging initiatives with strong potential for growth and sustainability.
