Submissions open for UK Social Mobility Awards

Deadline Date: June 26, 2026

The UK Social Mobility Awards recognise and celebrate organisations and individuals working to improve social mobility across companies and institutions in the United Kingdom.

The focus areas include social mobility advancement, workplace inclusion, diversity and equality initiatives, organisational leadership, mentoring and talent development, innovation in social mobility practices, education and early career programmes, and recognition of individual and organisational impact.

The UK Social Mobility Awards are designed to encourage and recognise efforts that promote social mobility within organisations across Britain. The awards aim to make social mobility a core part of organisational culture and practice, highlighting initiatives that contribute to greater equality of opportunity.

These awards recognise best practice, innovation, and excellence in advancing social mobility, while also raising awareness of its importance alongside other diversity priorities. The programme seeks to celebrate individuals and organisations that are actively driving meaningful change in this area.

The awards feature a total of 14 categories, including both individual and organisational awards. Individual categories recognise contributions such as Champion of the Year, Mentor of the Year, and Rising Star. Organisational categories include Organisation of the Year, Innovation, Leadership of the Year, Social Mobility Network of the Year, and Pre-Recruitment Programme of the Year.

Entries are assessed by a panel of judges drawn from business, public, and non-profit sectors, ensuring a balanced evaluation of contributions across industries. The awards focus on recognising impactful actions that meaningfully improve social mobility outcomes.

Eligibility is limited to UK-based private sector and public sector organisations, as well as universities, schools, and colleges with at least 50 employees. The programme is not open to charities and social enterprises whose primary purpose is social mobility, as the awards are intended to recognise organisations where social mobility is an additional focus rather than the core mission.

The awards aim to highlight and encourage ongoing progress in improving access to opportunities and creating more inclusive pathways across workplaces and educational institutions in the United Kingdom.
