Submissions open for Global Energy Tech Awards 2023

Entries are now open for the annual 3rd Global Energy Tech Awards to celebrate energy startups’ game changing innovations and achievements in the sector.

In 2023, the Publicis Sapient is looking for startups that have demonstrated exceptional commitment and creativity in developing and implementing solutions in their sub-sector.

At a time when the industry is going through significant change, and the transition to a carbon-zero future is underway, energy companies will increasingly have to partner with innovators like these in order to scale-up the skills and technology required to reach both their own and global net-zero goals. As a recognized leader of new technologies, they are proud to bring the best ideas and talent together, leading the charge in this shift to a cleaner, greener world.

Award Categories

  • Best Clean Tech Solution for Agriculture
    • This award recognizes innovative and sustainable technologies in the agriculture sector. In this category, showcase how your solution promotes sustainable and regenerative farming practices, and advances the use of clean technology solutions to improve agricultural productivity and reduce the environmental impact of farming operations.
    • Solutions in this category should promote innovative practices in areas such as precision agriculture, renewable energy, water conservation, waste reduction and soil health.
  • Best CleanTech Solution for Energy
    • This award recognizes innovative and sustainable solutions in the oil and gas sector.
    • In this category, showcase how your product significantly reduces the environmental impact of oil and gas operations while improving operational efficiency, safety and profitability.
    • Solutions in this category should promote innovative solutions in spaces such as carbon capture and storage, renewable energy integration, waste reduction and emissions reduction.
  • Best CleanTech Solution for Utilities
    • This award recognizes innovative and sustainable solutions in the utilities sector.
    • In this category, showcase how your digital technology helps utilities reduce their carbon footprint and improve the environmental sustainability of their operations, while maintaining high levels of reliability and affordability for their customers.
    • Judging criteria includes:

      • Relevancy to the utility sector.
  • Best Supply & Trading Solution
    • This award recognizes innovative and sustainable technologies and solutions across all energy and commodities sectors that are designed for the future of supply and trading.
    • Solutions in this category lead to increased operational efficiency and profitability while addressing risk management.
    • Solutions showcase excellence in areas such as energy trading and risk management (ETRM) systems and capabilities, risk management and trading strategies.
  • Best Commercial Sustainability Solution             
    • This award recognizes innovative and sustainable technologies and solutions across all energy and commodities sectors that are designed for a reimagined supply chain.
    • Solutions in this category find effective ways to reduce costs, improve operations and move faster to capture new opportunities as markets are being restructured and supply chains are being disrupted.
  • Best Customer Experience Solution
    • This award recognizes innovative and sustainable technologies and solutions across all energy and commodities sectors that are designed for a reimagined customer experience.
    • Solutions in this category demonstrate exceptional commitment and creativity in developing and implementing customer-centric solutions that enhance the overall customer experience and increase their loyalty.
    • This category includes but is not limited to mobile apps or other solutions for forecourt, c-stores and mobility.

Prize Details

Who Can Enter?

  • The Awards are aimed at small businesses typically in the early-growth and scale-up phase, which have innovative technologies, robust business models, the ability to demonstrate traction in their activities and the potential for global scale.
  • For the purposes of these Awards, an applicant must:
    • be a natural (sole proprietorship) or legal person (including partnerships and equivalent for-profit corporate structures) entered into a relevant official register in the country of their registered office, anywhere in the world;
    • have been operating for five years or less (in current form);
    • be either a pure technology, tech-driven or a tech-enabled business;
    • have more than a proof of concept and can provide evidence of revenue that is not generated by any natural or legal person that controls their company;
    • not be majority-owned by an entity or entities with a global revenue of over 1 billion USD;
    • all applicants entering the Awards on behalf of a company must be aged 18 or over.
  • Publicis Sapient employees and contractors, their affiliates and legal entities they are part of based of any rights, are prohibited from entering the competition. Additionally, the competition is not open to entries coming from a Publicis Sapient client or their affiliates.

      • Relevancy to the oil and gas sector.
  • Best CleanTech Solution for Utilities
    • Judging criteria includes:
      • Originality of the concept.
      • Extendibility and stability of the concept.
      • Potential value generated as a business.
      • Impact on the environment and society.
      • Relevancy to the utility sector.
  • Best Supply & Trading Solution
    • Judging criteria includes:
      • Originality of the concept.
      • Extendibility and stability of the concept.
      • Potential value generated as a business.
      • Impact on the environment and society.
      • Use of digital in an innovative and impactful way.
      • Solutions designed to mitigate risks, improve ETRM functionality and efficiency and support supply and trading of the future.
  • Best Commercial Sustainability Solution
    • Judging criteria includes:

      • Impact on the environment and society.
      • Use of digital in an innovative and impactful way.
