Nominations open for Madrid Impact Award 2026 (Spain)

Deadline Date: May 20, 2026

The Madrid City Council, through the Madrid Impacta 2026 Award, is strengthening its commitment to supporting innovative businesses that generate positive economic, social, and environmental impact.

The key focus areas and objectives of this initiative include supporting companies with growth and development potential, promoting job creation and wealth generation, advancing impact entrepreneurship, fostering innovative and sustainable solutions, improving quality of life, sustainability, and competitiveness, reinforcing Madrid’s role as a leader in responsible entrepreneurship, aligning with the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, raising awareness about impact entrepreneurship, facilitating connections with specialized impact investors, encouraging responsible investment, boosting sustainable development and shared value creation, and providing strategic and economic support to impactful business projects.

The Madrid Impact Award is designed to recognize and support entrepreneurs and companies that combine profitability with meaningful contributions to society. It highlights businesses that develop innovative solutions to address pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges while maintaining financial sustainability and long-term growth potential. These enterprises reinvest their profits to expand their impact, ensuring that their initiatives remain scalable and resilient without relying solely on external funding sources such as subsidies or donations.

This tenth edition of the award offers both financial incentives and strategic support to selected projects, with a total prize pool of 50,000 euros distributed across multiple categories. The first prize, “Madrid Impacta 2026,” awards 12,000 euros, followed by the second prize of 6,500 euros and the third prize of 4,000 euros. In addition, eleven runner-up prizes of 2,500 euros each are granted across categories including Madrid project, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centres of the Madrid City Council, Best elevator pitch, Greater growth potential and projection, Environmental impact, Universal accessibility of cities, Clean energy, Scientific-technological field, Health and well-being, Education, and Care for dependency.

Beyond financial rewards, the program provides valuable in-kind support through collaborations with sponsoring organizations. Winning companies will benefit from mentoring, expert guidance, networking opportunities, and access to professional resources that enhance their business models and maximize their impact. This includes specialized mentoring in clean energy, access to cloud technology and innovation programs, workspace memberships, media exposure, and business growth consulting services.

To be eligible for the award, applicants must meet specific requirements. They must qualify as small or medium-sized enterprises, be established as a natural or legal entity, and have begun operations on or after January 1, 2019. Applicants must demonstrate that their business has already generated revenue and developed a tested product or service prototype with measurable results. Additionally, their project must be innovative, disruptive, and capable of addressing complex challenges, supported by a clear methodology for measuring impact. Compliance with tax and social security obligations is also mandatory.

Through this initiative, Madrid continues to position itself as a hub for responsible entrepreneurship, encouraging businesses that not only drive economic growth but also contribute positively to society and the environment.
