Metaverse Challenge and Immersive Reality for Start-Ups and SMEs (Italy)

The Clust-ER Innovate of the Emilia-Romagna Region, an association that brings together public and private innovation stakeholders, has launched a challenge on Metaverse, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Virtual Reality and Wearable in collaboration with Fondazione Olitec, AIRI, Search On Media Group, EmiliaRomagnaSTARTUP, BI-REX, MUG – Magazzini Generativi, Fondazione Golinelli, Clust-ER Health, Clust-ER Create and Clust-ER Build.

Awards Ceremony

  • The challenge is part of a series of Clust-ER Innovate initiatives and will give rise to a short publication containing the experiences candidates for the challenge, in which the participants and their case histories will be mentioned.
  • The Challenge will end in May 2024 with a dissemination and awards event in which the finalists will have the opportunity to present their project idea through a pitch that will be recorded and promoted on the social channels of Clust-ER Innovate and the Promoters.

Below is the list of prizes reserved for the 5 winners (the first classified in each of the 5 categories)

  • Olivetti Technology Foundation: one year of tutoring and participation in the Olivetti Technology Foundation with an area available in the chosen location, collaboration with researchers and presence at the foundation’s events
  • Clust-ER Innovate: association with Clust-ER Innovate with exemption from the registration fee and the annual fee for 2024. The winners will therefore have free access to a networking ecosystem for innovation in the service sector where they will be able to benefit from:
    • Access to the ”Open to Innovate” Innovation Community
    • Business and research contacts
    • Access to multidisciplinary working groups
    • Participation in an innovative and dynamic regional ecosystem
    • Participation in all Clust-ER activities and international trips
  • BI-REX: For each of the winners, a package of technological consultancy (2 hours) will be offered by BI-REX and the possibility of using the pilot line laboratories to develop and test their own product/service. The selected startups will also have the opportunity to request direct access to the Tech Transfer services of the CTE COBO project including further technological consultancy, purchase of materials for prototyping and access to further technological assets.
  • Emil Banca MUG: for each of the winning companies, 1 hour of dedicated financial consultancy will be offered following analysis of the organisation’s balance sheet and bankability.
  • Clust-ER Health: possibility of accessing the trade fair events organized in the Emilia-Romagna Region on the theme of Health and Wellbeing, including ExpoSanità (Bologna, 17-19 April 2024) and the innovation arena of Rimini Wellness (Rimini, 30 May-2 June 2024) under the same conditions reserved for Clust-ER Health members.
  • Search On Media Group: possibility for two companies, selected among the winners by Search On, to participate in the final phase of the Startup Competition 2024 which will take place on the occasion of WeMakeFuture 2024 (for each company 2 WMF tickets, pitch on the startup stage, inclusion in the matrix of B2B appointments. Value 3k for total company 6k).
  • Clust-ER Create: The winners will have free access for one year to the working groups of their interest in the Clust-ER Create reference areas: for example, Fashion, Design, Cultural Heritage, Music, Cinema, Gaming, Museums, Live Entertainment, Tourism and Urban Reactivation.
  • Clust-ER BUILD: winners will have free access for one year to the working groups of their interest in the Clust-ER Build reference areas: urban regeneration, innovation for the management of built heritage, safety of structures and infrastructures, energy sustainability, sustainable mobility, development of 3D technologies for historical heritage.
  • Golinelli Foundation: each of the winning companies is offered two hours of personalized mentoring defined on the basis of the specific needs of the winning individuals; the hours will partly be provided by G-Factor, incubator and accelerator of the Golinelli Foundation.

Criteria

  • The invitation is open to all entities active on Italian territory.
  • Prepare a complete presentation of your project, consisting of a document of maximum 10 slides and, if possible, enrich it with a practical case and a short presentation video (max 3 minutes).
  • The challenge aims to support the development and growth of the application of Digital Transformation Solutions Within the Metaverse, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality and Virtual Reality.
  • The challenge is aimed at Italian startups, spin-offs and SMEs operating in Italy.
