WASH Innovation Hub (WIH) at ASCI and GIZ, India, are pleased to announce an innovation challenge to promote climate-resilient water and sanitation service delivery in cities.
The challenge is open to innovative technologies, business models, and financing arrangements in mitigation and adaptation. The best entries will receive funding, access to work with cities, and network with funders and mentors.
WASH Innovation Hub (WIH) is a platform for innovative WASH solutions and building the capacities of municipalities and other stakeholders for implementing and sustaining identified solutions. The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) in partnership with GoTS, has established the WASH Innovation Hub (WIH) as an initiative to promote innovations that can support cities in developing sustainable service delivery systems and is committed to achieving SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation & SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
Thematic Areas of Participation
The startups providing innovative technological and business solutions in mitigation and adaptation are eligible to participate.

- 1st Prize: ₹ 15 Lakhs
- 1st Runner up: ₹ 10 Lakhs
- 2nd Runner up: ₹ 5 Lakhs
- Best entries will be selected by Technical Advisory Committee and supported by Wash Innovation Hub

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible categories for participation:
- MSMEs and Startups registered in India can apply for the innovation challenge in any of the themes outlined above. They can apply for more than one category.
- All entities should be recognised as startups by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) or have an MSME Registration Certificate.
Terms and Conditions
- All participants must meet the eligibility criteria to participate in the challenge.
- Women’s participation is encouraged.
- Winners should use the prize money for the development/augmentation of the solution & deployment on the ground.
- ASCI’s decision for selection will be final.
