The European Enterprise Promotion Awards (Competition for the best idea in the field of entrepreneurship promotion) is an initiative of the European Commission that aims to recognize and reward outstanding examples of entrepreneurship support and promotion across Europe. This award is not just a competition, but an aspiration to strengthen awareness of the importance of supporting entrepreneurship, as well as to celebrate every success in this field.
In addition to 27 EU member states, the competition for the best model in the field of entrepreneurship promotion also includes countries that are part of the SME pillar within the EU Program – Single Market.
Objectives
- Identify and recognize successful activities and initiatives undertaken in the goal promotion of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship
- Present and share examples of the best entrepreneurial policies and practices
- To create greater awareness of the role of entrepreneurs in society
- To encourage and inspire potential entrepreneurs
EEPA is a chance for your idea or creative approach to support entrepreneurship to enter the competition for European recognition and bring you visibility and promotion throughout Europe, but also for you to set an example and serve as an inspiration to others.

Benefits
Benefits for participants and prize winners:
- All participants nominated by their country for the European Entrepreneurship Promotion Award will be invited to participate in the award ceremony.
- Information on all nominees’ initiatives will be published on the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) website, making them available to the public. Media relations and a social media campaign will announce the nominees, putting them in the spotlight.
- There will be two types of prize winners: for each of the categories and one winner for the Grand Jury Prize. In addition to receiving the award itself, the winners will be awarded for creativity and successful implementation. They will therefore be in a position to inspire others by acting as role models across the European Union.
Who can participate?
- National, regional and local institutions and organizations, cities, regions, local self – government units as well as public-private partnerships between public authorities and entrepreneurs, educational programs and business organizations have the right to participate.
- Cross-border cooperation programs can also be nominated if they have the support of all participants in the implementation, that is, if there is their agreement.
- ONLY within the framework of the category e Responsible and inclusive entrepreneurship, private persons falling under the definition of SMEs as stated in the definition of SMEs have the right to apply independently, provided that the project that wants to enter the competition is not the basic business activity of SMEs.
- If you want to participate in the Competition, and you are not a national, regional and local institution and organization, city, region, unit of local self-government , the project you apply for must be the result of a public-private partnership, i.e. that, based on a financial agreement, you are in charge of implementing a program created by a public body and/or that there is an agreement between you and the public body by which, based on your expertise, knowledge and resources, you are involved in the process of drafting practical policies and/or that your specific the project is given direct support by a public body (this support does not necessarily have to be of a financial nature).
- An important condition for participation is that the project/initiative that is the subject of the Competition has been implemented for a minimum of 15 months, that is, it has achieved certain results that can qualify it for recognition.
