Deadline: 25 October 2024
The Dijon Métropole is launching an open innovation programme to support the development of soft and active mobility in the area.
As part of the European RESPONSE project, the partners are developing a sustainable and intelligent city demonstrator in Dijon (France) and Turku (Finland). This innovative approach has already transformed the Fontaine d’Ouche district into a positive-energy district.
Join the adventure by joining Open2Horizon: the RESPONSE project’s innovation challenge, which offers you the opportunity to work with Dijon Métropole’s teams to develop new services for cities in transition.
Through this open innovation programme, the Dijon area becomes a real ‘testing ground’ for techno solutions (start-ups and SMEs) that can then be deployed on a large scale.
Dijon Métropole has a large number of pedestrian and cycle flow counts. However, to date, these counts have been ad hoc and have not enabled the local authority to deduce a model for active travel on a territorial scale. Yet such a model would be a powerful tool for building and monitoring mobility plans that really encourage the use of active mobility.
The challenge for all companies wishing to innovate for the energy and climate transition of European cities is therefore the following: “How can we model active mobility flows on the scale of Dijon Metropole?”
Aims
- The aim of this challenge is to build a tool that would enable to:
- model active mobility flows on a metropolitan scale;
- track changes in flows over time;
- propose a flow visualization interface.
- Eventually, complementary modules could be developed to:
- determine possible correlations between developments and flow trends;
- propose a flow prediction model based on planned developments;
- determine the carbon impact of observed or predicted flow trends.
Award Information
- In accordance with the modalities defined in the Sub-Grant Agreement, the winner will be awarded 25 000€ to develop and test the solution.
- The prize will be paid in three instalments:
- 10 000€ at the beginning of the prototyping phase
- 10 000€ at the beginning of the experimentation phase (a prototype will be provided: a video presentation or a slideshow presentation of the prototype to grant the payment)
- 5 000€ at the end of the experimentation phase (the demonstrator with its documentation will be provided as deliverable to grant the payment)
Who can join?
- This challenge is open to SMEs and startups (staff headcount < 250 and turnover < 50M€) registered in an EU Member States or H2020 Associated Countries.
