Categories
- Farm Foundation Book of the Year Award
- Farm Foundation Book of the Year Award: This award is open to a book published within the last 24 months, that is non-fiction, published in English, and focused on food and/or agriculture.
- Lifetime Achievement Awards
- R.J. Hildreth Public Policy Award Farm Foundation began awarding the R.J. Hildreth Award for Career Achievement in Public Policy, an award currently open to those in the field of public policy, through government service, as educators, or those researching agricultural policy.
- The Farm Foundation Transformational Leadership Award: This lifetime achievement award honors an individual who has demonstrated innovative and transformational leadership in food and agriculture.
- Innovator Awards
- The Farm Foundation Innovator of the Year Award: The focus of this award is to recognize those change makers that are an integral part to solving some of the most influential challenges they face today in the agriculture and food industries.
- The Farm Foundation Emerging Leader Award: This award recognizes an emerging young leader who is on the trajectory to make transformational change within the agriculture and food sectors.
Eligibility Criteria
- The awards are open to any candidate involved in the agriculture and food industries. Anyone may submit a nomination, including a self-nomination.
- Farm Foundation Book of the Year Award
- This award is open to a book published within the last 24 months, that is non-fiction, published in English, and focused on food and/or agriculture.
- R.J. Hildreth Public Policy Award
- A well-established career in public policy, research, or education
- Research or service has had a significant impact on policy or education
- Is a highly respected leader, researcher, teacher, and peer
- Work is often cited in research, media, and policy
- Candidate is considered an expert in their field
- Embodies the mission and vision of Farm Foundation through their work and contributions.
- The Farm Foundation Transformational Leadership Award
- Exhibits traits and characteristics of a true leader through their visionary approach to leading an organization or industry
- Identified as a mentor and changemaker within their established career
- Was responsible for a transformational idea, product or concept that had significant impact in the food and agriculture sector
- Exemplifies high standards of professionalism in all their endeavors
- Embodies the mission and vision of Farm Foundation through their work and contributions.
- The Farm Foundation Innovator of the Year Award
- The innovation’s benefits are clearly measurable by positive impacts within the food and agriculture sector
- Innovator identifies the overall value proposition of the innovative idea or project
- The innovation must impact more than one level of the supply chain from farmers to consumers
- Exhibits impact of strengthening the link between farmers and consumers
- Embodies the mission and vision of Farm Foundation through their work and contributions.
- The Farm Foundation Emerging Leader Award
- An emerging leader within their career, 40 years of age or younger
- Identifiable early career achievements in improving the agriculture and food industries
- Exhibits leadership examples by being involved in organizations across the food and agriculture sector
- Shows initiative and promise in playing an active role in leading change within the food and agriculture sector
- Actively participates in events and opportunities to educate consumers and broad audiences on the importance of the food and agriculture sector
- Embodies the mission and vision of Farm Foundation through their work and contributions.
