The Canada’s Volunteer Awards recognize individuals, groups, and organizations that demonstrate outstanding volunteer leadership and make meaningful contributions to strengthening communities across Canada.
The programme focuses on inspiring and mobilizing other volunteers, demonstrating sustained leadership within communities, and making a meaningful and lasting difference through volunteer efforts that contribute to stronger and more resilient communities. It also highlights recognition across categories including Community Leader, Emerging Leader, Business Leader, and Social Innovator.
Canada’s Volunteer Awards are designed to honour exceptional volunteer contributions at a national level. Award recipients are recognized during a national ceremony and are also invited to participate in sessions where they share best practices in volunteering, contributing to the broader development of volunteer engagement across the country.
Recipients of the awards receive a certificate in recognition of their contributions. In addition, each recipient selects a registered non-profit organization in Canada to receive a grant, with $10,000 awarded for the national award and $5,000 awarded for regional awards, helping extend the impact of their volunteer work.
Eligibility for nomination is open to individuals or groups, businesses, non-profit organizations, and charities. The programme is designed to ensure that a wide range of contributors to community development and volunteerism can be recognized for their efforts and impact.
