Build the Future with Saint-Gobain APAC Startup Challenge

Join them in tackling the pressing issue of carbon emissions in the construction industry. With the built environment accounting for 39% of annual global carbon emissions (source: UNEP), now is the time to accelerate decarbonization efforts.

As the global leader in light and sustainable construction, Saint-Gobain is committed to building a more sustainable future with clean and green building technology. From 3D printing and energy-efficient materials to immersive technologies and enhanced delivery optimization, they’re looking to collaborate with startups in APAC region that are committed to leveraging technology and innovation to build a better world.

Selected startups will get to be fast-tracked to SLINGSHOT’s Top 50 startups. They will also receive funding opportunities, mentorship, and access to invaluable resources to turn their ideas into reality.

Categories

  • Construction Productivity: They ‘re open to innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and productivity of the construction industry using technologies such as off-site construction, robotics and automation, job-site efficiency, 3D printing, etc.
  • Healthy and Sustainable Building: They are seeking solutions to promote healthy living and reduce carbon footprint through low-carbon construction materials, energy efficiency materials, well-being and comfort solutions, and renovation tech.
  • Circular Economy: They are looking for solutions to promote circularity and sustainability in the construction industry through alternative raw materials (eg. cement and sand alternatives), revalorizing waste through recycling and carbon capture, and exploring resale marketplaces.
  • Digital Customer Experience: They are on the look for startups to enhance customer experience and optimize the delivery process in the construction industry. Solutions can include B2B e-commerce and marketplace solutions, immersive technologies, building information modeling (BIM), digital twins, life cycle assessment (LCA) tools, delivery optimization and tracking.

Awards and Benefits for Finalists

  • Get fast-tracked to Slingshot Top 50 Finalists as the Grand Winner and be eligible for an SGD30k Startup SG Grant Prize (attend a 3-day physical immersion programme and connect with key innovation ecosystem players in Singapore as the Grand Winner)

Eligibility Criteria

  • This Challenge is open and offered solely to:
    • Startups in APAC region. A business entity, regardless of its business area. Startups may be required, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, to provide proof of
      •  company registration by submitting a registration certificate issued within the last three (3) months, or ongoing company registration, or any trade registry and proof ensuring the registration of the entity in the relevant country, and
      • a valid professional insurance policy subscription.
    • All the documents that may confirm the Participant’s eligibility may be required prior to awarding any prizes (e.g. identity document, registration certificate etc.).
    • This Challenge is NOT open to: employees, representatives, officers, agents, shareholders or any other persons (including their families, relatives biologically or at law) acting in the name or on behalf of the Sponsor and Agorize who may be subject to the conflict of interest.

Judging Criteria

  • The  5-10 Finalists,  the Grand Prize Winner and other 2-4 Winners will be chosen on the basis of the following criteria:
    • Strategic fit with Saint-Gobain activities
    • Technical depth
    • Feasibility
    • Differentiation.
