Applications open for Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge (Nigeria)

Deadline: 9 September 2023

To contribute towards the reduction of unemployment crisis ravaging the youth population in Nigeria, the Center launched the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge, an idea pitching and grant competition for young entrepreneurs and innovators who have ideas that can be transformed into business ventures or social enterprises.

This is the idea pitching and impact investment program for young and women entrepreneurs who have business ideas and innovations that they can transform into scalable business ventures and social enterprises.

All applicants pass through a compulsory Boot Camp and Pitching Competitions and those with best business ideas receive both financial and technical supports.

Prize Information

  • At the grand finale, the top 5 finalists shall again pitch their ideas and compete for the following prizes:
    • Star Prizes:
      • 1st Prize: 1.5 Million Naira
      • 2nd Prize: 1Million Naira
      • 3rd Prize: 700,000 Naira
      • 4th Prize: 500,000 Naira
      • 5th Prize: 300,000 Naira

Eligibility Criteria

You are eligible to apply for this Challenge if you are a Nigerian (living in Nigeria), either male or female between 18 and 40 years of age and have an idea that can be turned into a business or social enterprise.

Timeline

  • The Activity Schedule is as follows:
    • Online Boot Camp: Oct 02 – Oct 28
    • 1st Pitching: Oct 29 – Nov 09
    • 2nd Pitching: Nov 18 – Nov 24
    • Grand Finale: Dec 12, 2023
