The Ministry of Culture has launched a call for expressions of interest for grants and sponsorships to support activities of museums, art galleries and collections.
The support and development of contemporary artistic creation and production, the emergence of new and original/innovative ideas of artistic expression and cultural action, supporting the work of young artists and fostering new artistic movements, the development of the public and the diffusion of cultural goods among citizens, the strengthening of cross-sectoral/cross-artistic actions in Contemporary Culture and the encouragement of creative synergies in Greece and internationally, strengthening the cultural and creative economy as a pillar of social and economic development and the creation of new jobs, the development of actions in the Region with the aim of supporting and utilizing the human resources of each region and contributing to the economic revitalization of local communities.
The promotion of equality in access, participation and familiarity with contemporary cultural events, with emphasis on young people, vulnerable and vulnerable social groups, as well as special audiences, strengthening social cohesion and contributing to the acceptance of diversity, strengthening knowledge for an even more sustainable environment, through socially responsible actions, promoting digital transformation and digital innovation in the field of culture, strengthening the prestige and reputation of Greek contemporary artistic creation abroad and the emergence of Greece as a strong and recognizable pole of development of Contemporary Culture.
The program aims to reinforce the role of museums and galleries as cultural and educational hubs for the public, focusing on activities that encourage participation, creativity and community engagement. Museums and galleries are recognized for their contribution to increasing visitor numbers and preserving architectural heritage, while also inspiring artistic expression and supporting local regeneration.
Proposals eligible for funding include periodic exhibitions, workshops, educational programs, conferences, publications, hospitality programs and collaborations with local and other organizations conducted inside and outside museums. Activities may also focus on digital enhancements such as digital recording of collections, interpretive tools and media, website development, promotional material and digital applications including virtual and augmented reality.
Further eligible actions include the preparation of museological studies, upgrading of exhibition infrastructure and conservation work on artworks that belong exclusively to collections of municipal museums and art galleries. Each organization may submit one proposal under the programs Creative Greece – Grants for Contemporary Culture 2026 and Modern Cultural Heritage, while the program “All of Greece One Culture” is excluded.
