Call for Proposals: NIDHI-PRAYAS Scheme (India)

National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) is an umbrella program conceived and developed by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship division, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, for nurturing ideas and innovations (knowledge-based and technology-driven) into successful startups.

Objectives

• Support in translating an innovative idea to a prototype
• Provide a platform for faster experimentation and modify approaches in the idea to market journey
• Generate innovative solutions relevant to the local and global problems
• Pre-incubation of potential ideas leading to venture creation.
• Encourage young entrepreneurial aspirants who demonstrates problem solving zeal and abilities

Focused Sectors

• This scheme focuses on various sectors that include Agriculture, Healthcare, Clean-tech, Energy, Water, Internet of things (IoT), Industry 4.0, and other emerging sectors where ESDM based initiatives are applicable.

Benefits

• Funding assistance for prototype development (upto Rs 10 lakhs )
• Infrastructure support for prototyping  and operations ( co working space, meeting rooms, conference facility)
• Mentorship support from experts
• Guidance in venture creation and securing further funds

Duration

• The period of prototyping support is 12 to 18 months.

Disclaimer

• The applications received are subject to screening process. Only shortlisted participants will be notified/ informed about the final presentation to the monitoring committee.
• Screening will be subject to the parameters other than the eligibility, such as Innovation, Potential for commercialization and venture creation, Team capability and Commitment etc.
• The decision of the screening committee for approval and funding support will be final and binding.
• The final decision of screening committee will be communicated only to the approved applicants via email.
• The approved applicants will have to agree for Pre incubation/ Incubation with Incubation Centre IIT Patna as per its policy.
• Screening of applications will take 4 weeks from the date of closure of online applications. As only selected candidates will be notified, no communication from ICIITP within this timeframe may be deemed as non-selection of your application.
• No suggestion/explanation with regards to the application that are not selected will be provided.
