The Anveshan Centre of Excellence at the Indian Institute of Management Indore, is launching its Research Initiative to support academic and applied research in critical areas aligned with the Swachh Bharat Mission.
This initiative aims to fund impactful research projects that address complex challenges in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), environmental sustainability, and urban public systems.
Goal
- The goal is to facilitate evidence-based policy formulation, practical innovation, and entrepreneurial ventures emerging from academic insights.
Objectives
- To promote interdisciplinary research and encourage collaboration between faculty, students, practitioners, and external stakeholders.
- To fund projects that develop behavioural interventions, technological tools, and policy innovations in the sanitation and waste management space.
- To support early-stage research ideas with institutional grant, enabling pilot implementation or further development.
Focus Areas
- Proposals should align with at least one of the following domains:
- Waste Management: Solid waste, plastic waste, segregation, treatment technologies.
- Behavioural Interventions: Nudges, communication strategies, social impact assessment.
- Urban Governance: Institutional models, municipal administration, citizen participation.
- Environmental Sustainability: Circular economy, pollution control, resource efficiency.
- Public Policy: Policy frameworks, regulatory analysis, evaluation studies.
- Technology & Innovation: Data tools, GIS, sensors, digital platforms.
- Sanitation: Access, behaviour change, urban sanitation systems.
Funding Information
- Grant of up to: ₹10,00,000 per project.
Eligible Expenses
- The grant covers essential research-related expenses, including:
- Research materials and resources
- Equipment and licensed software
- Travel and fieldwork
- Survey tools and data collection
- Publication, documentation, and dissemination costs
Eligibility Criteria
- Faculty members, research scholars, and students from IIM Indore.
- Interdisciplinary teams including external collaborators from premier institutes and field organizations, practitioners or entrepreneurs developing solutions or exploring implementation-based research in WASH (must include one IIM Indore member).
Selection Criteria
- A maximum of 10 proposals will be selected based on merit, innovation, and alignment with Anveshan’s focus areas.
