The UNICEF Malaysia is seeking proposals from qualified event agencies to conceptualize, design, and deliver the World Children’s Day 2026 “Festival of Rights” in the Klang Valley, covering full event planning, production, execution, and reporting.
The focus areas, of this assignment include children’s rights awareness, meaningful participation of children and young people, public engagement, donor and partner engagement, UNICEF visibility, festival design and production, event management, safeguarding standards, stakeholder coordination, and post-event reporting and documentation.
The assignment aims to increase public awareness and understanding of children’s rights in Malaysia while ensuring meaningful participation of children and young people throughout the event. It also seeks to strengthen UNICEF’s visibility, enhance public engagement, provide a platform for donor and partner involvement, and integrate UNICEF @80 in a clear and appropriate manner.
The selected agency will be responsible for full concept development and planning, including creating a strong festival concept aligned with “Janji Kita,” developing the narrative, visual identity, audience experience, and designing the programme flow and audience journey. The agency is also expected to design child and youth participation elements with at least five high-visibility components.
The scope includes design, production, and pre-event delivery, covering spatial layout, festival zones, stages, installations, talent and speaker coordination, and vendor management. It also includes ensuring child-focused and youth-led programme elements aligned with safeguarding standards, as well as coordinating partner onboarding and participation.
The agency will manage full event implementation, including set-up, rehearsals, live operations, troubleshooting, stakeholder coordination, and breakdown. This includes coordination with vendors, partners, volunteers, facilitators, technical teams, and other contributors involved in the event delivery.
Post-event responsibilities include producing a comprehensive report, documenting attendance, participation, and engagement data, and capturing child and youth participation outcomes. The reporting will also include partner contributions, Go Blue implementation results, and curated photo and video documentation for UNICEF archives, subject to consent and approval requirements.
The assignment requires a clearly defined project team structure with named personnel and roles. The proposed team must include a project lead or account lead with at least five years of relevant experience, along with dedicated personnel for concept development, event management, production, branding and design, programme coordination, and operations. Backup support must also be ensured in case the project lead is unavailable, and CVs detailing qualifications, experience, and relevant assignments must be provided.
