The Global Citizen and PayPal Small Business Impact Awards offers to support small and medium-sized businesses creating social and environmental impact through innovative and community-focused practices.
The focus areas, of this award include social and environmental impact, community development, sustainability, equity in business practices, innovation in small business, local economic growth, job creation, and support for charitable and nonprofit initiatives.
The awards recognise creative small and medium-sized business owners and founders who are actively driving positive change in their communities through impactful products and services. The initiative highlights businesses that integrate sustainability and equity into their operations.
Selected businesses receive a 20,000 USD cash prize along with access to data insights, technical training, and marketing and brand activation support to help accelerate their impact and growth.
Applicants must be active business leaders such as founders, owners, or CEOs, and must have an established online presence enabling customers to access their products or services. Eligible businesses are typically small to medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 50 employees or annual revenue under $1 million, depending on local standards.
The programme also requires demonstrated community impact over one to five years, including contributions such as supporting local causes, engaging in community projects, implementing sustainable practices, or creating employment and training opportunities.
