Deadline Date: September 01, 2026
The Coordination and Capacity Kick-off call supports the preparation of strong applications for the upcoming LANGSPIL Interdisciplinary Call by enabling Polish research organisations and international partners to establish collaborative research partnerships.
Focus areas include European green transition; democracy, rule of law and human rights; social inclusion and resilience; interdisciplinary basic research; international research collaboration; scientific excellence; research-based innovation; open science; FAIR data management; research integrity; gender equality; support for early-stage researchers and female researchers; knowledge transfer and valorisation of research results; and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Poland and Donor States.
The Kick-off grants will support the creation of bilateral consortia between Polish research organisations and partners from Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein to develop interdisciplinary basic research collaborations and encourage engagement with non-academic stakeholders.
The call is open to Polish researchers, especially those at early career stages. Beneficiaries will receive capacity-building support through tailored workshops and assistance in developing interdisciplinary project proposals.
Eligible applicants must be Polish research organisations employing a Principal Investigator with at least a PhD degree at the time of submission. Applicants must meet the requirements for research organisations under the relevant European Commission regulations and be established as legal persons in Poland.
The grant aims to strengthen scientific excellence, internationalisation, and interdisciplinary cooperation across research fields while supporting curiosity-driven research addressing key societal priorities. Projects should contribute to building sustainable international partnerships and increasing the long-term impact of research outcomes.
Supported initiatives are expected to deliver high-quality international research outputs, promote open science and open access practices, involve early-stage researchers and women in research teams, strengthen career development opportunities, and support future cooperation in international research and innovation programmes.
The call is part of the EEA Grants framework, which aims to reduce economic and social disparities within the European Economic Area and strengthen bilateral relations between Poland and Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein through values such as transparency, accountability, equality, sustainability, and non-discrimination. The total amount available under the call is €150,000, with each awarded grant providing €2,800.
Eligible activities include basic research activities that generate new scientific knowledge without immediate commercial application and align with the objectives and cost requirements of the GRIEG BIS call. Activities involving cooperation with Russian Federation entities are not eligible.
