Deadline Date: October 01, 2026
The Media Grants programme supports journalistic and media productions that highlight new perspectives on Sweden and Lithuania through cross-border reporting and content creation.
The focus areas of this funding opportunity include producing articles and media content that present new aspects of Sweden and Lithuania, strengthening mutual cultural understanding, supporting international media collaboration, and increasing public interest in bilateral relations. The programme also allows previous project grant recipients to apply for additional media support to increase the visibility of their work.
This grant is designed for a wide range of applicants, including individual journalists, editorial offices, media companies, freelancers, and employed media professionals. Eligible outputs include content published across newspapers, magazines, radio, television, podcasts, web television, and major blogs.
The funding aims to vitalize, broaden, and renew interest in Sweden and Lithuania within both countries by supporting high-quality storytelling and media engagement. Applicants are expected to submit a sample of previous work along with a clear publication plan for the proposed media output.
Funding is calculated based on a formula that considers the number of people travelling, the duration of travel, and the route between the starting point and destination. The grant typically covers travel and accommodation for up to five days. The Fund Board may approve a lower amount than calculated, including adjustments such as reducing the number of participants, shortening the duration, or suggesting alternative funding sources.
