MANTRA aims to establish a scalable capacity-building and demonstration programme for manufacturing SMEs across the European Union. The project is designed to help businesses adopt advanced technologies and innovative approaches that support sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness.
The initiative places particular emphasis on traditional manufacturing SMEs with lower levels of advanced technology adoption. Through tailored support and expert networks, participating businesses will be assisted in developing and implementing transformation strategies.
Key elements of the programme include a digital support centre for collaboration and transformation, a due diligence toolbox to assess readiness for green and digital transitions, capacity-building programmes, a technology marketplace connecting traditional and technology-oriented SMEs, and a collaborative community for knowledge sharing and learning.
The project will provide financial support of 50,000 euros to 50 selected manufacturing SMEs to help implement their transformation plans. The programme also includes activities aimed at ensuring long-term impact, replication of successful approaches, and broader dissemination across Europe.
Eligible applicants must be registered SMEs operating within an EU Member State and comply with the applicable SME definition. Applications must be submitted in English, and participating representatives must be able to communicate in English. Each SME may receive funding only once, although unsuccessful applicants may reapply in a subsequent call if they were not selected initially.
