The Clean Technology Innovation Grant is now accepting applications to support projects that advance and demonstrate innovative clean energy solutions.
The program focuses on testing the technical and commercial feasibility, viability and compliance of products and projects, accelerating research, development and commercialization of low-emissions technologies, supporting scalable, replicable and cost-effective clean technology solutions, fostering an ecosystem that strengthens clean technology innovation capabilities, and attracting world-class clean technology companies and innovations to support clean technology growth.
The grant is designed to help businesses move lab-proven clean technologies toward commercial deployment through pilot projects and demonstration activities. It supports initiatives that can validate technology performance and market potential through repeated testing and practical implementation.
Funding is available to support projects that contribute to the advancement of low-emissions technologies and help bring innovative solutions closer to commercialization. The program aims to encourage the development of technologies that can be expanded, replicated, and adopted more broadly.
Applicants may request funding ranging from $500,000 to $5 million per project. Funding can cover up to 50 percent of eligible project costs, with a total program funding allocation of up to $25 million.
The grant is available to a range of organizations seeking support for clean technology commercialization. Eligible applicants include small-to-medium enterprises, technology developers, innovators, start-ups, research organizations, and academia with a spin-out company.
Applicants must satisfy all eligibility requirements throughout the assessment process and for the duration of the grant. Any changes to the project must be communicated as they may affect eligibility. Funding agreements will only be entered into with the applicant assessed during the application process, and any proposed changes to the applicant require written approval.
