Deadline Date: June 25, 2026
The Ideation (TNUFA) Challenge – Critical Minerals program seeks to establish new Israeli startups and advance technological innovation across the critical minerals value chain.
The program focuses on innovative technological solutions across the critical minerals value chain, including exploration, mining, production, processing, recycling, and reuse, as well as substitute technologies aimed at reducing dependence on rare minerals. Key technology segments include Deep Tech in mining (smart upstream systems), Processing & Recovery (clean separation technologies and recycling from waste streams), and Substitution & Efficiency (advanced materials designed to replace rare minerals and improve supply resilience).
The program is designed to support proof of concept (PoC) development and early-stage technological advancement in critical minerals. It encourages innovations that address the entire value chain, from resource identification and extraction to advanced processing, recovery, and circular reuse models. It also promotes alternative material solutions that reduce reliance on scarce and strategically important minerals.
Funding under the program includes a top grant of 1,000,000 ILS awarded to the first-place proposal, while proposals ranked second to fifth will each receive 250,000 ILS under the Tnufa grant framework. The financial support is intended to accelerate early-stage innovation and help transform research-driven ideas into viable technological ventures.
Eligibility is limited to Israeli residents. Early-stage registered companies must meet specific requirements related to prior funding levels and annual revenue constraints to qualify for participation.
Applications are evaluated based on the level of technological innovation, the complexity of implementation, the capabilities of the applicant team, overall project feasibility, global business growth potential, contribution to the Israeli economy, and the expected impact of the grant on venture development.
