Deadline Date: June 16, 2026
The Merseyside Community Investment Fund is inviting applications to support community projects that address urgent social issues and create positive change across the Liverpool City Region.
The fund focuses on projects that target disadvantage and deprivation, support young people, older people and people with disabilities, encourage communities to take a proactive approach to improving their local areas, deliver ongoing activities rather than one-off events, assist viable groups with small reserves, support innovative projects that may not meet traditional corporate funding criteria, and fund specific projects rather than general contributions to running costs or larger initiatives.
The Merseyside Community Investment Fund brings together businesses, organisations and individuals who make modest financial contributions to collectively achieve a greater impact in local communities. The fund is designed to support projects that may face difficulties accessing funding from other sources and can be used to respond to local concerns or proactively address urgent social needs.
Priority is given to initiatives that demonstrate a clear benefit to disadvantaged communities and encourage active community participation. The fund also seeks to support innovative approaches that can make a meaningful difference within local areas.
The programme is available across the entire Liverpool City Region, including Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral. Grants of up to £3,000 are available to eligible projects.
Certain activities and organisations are not eligible for funding under this programme. These include statutory organisations or activities that fall under their responsibilities, organisations with fewer than three unrelated trustees, directors or management committee members, Community Interest Companies limited by shares, national organisations without local governance or autonomy in Merseyside, commercial ventures for personal profit, vehicle purchase or maintenance, activities that have already taken place before a grant offer is made, politically connected or exclusively religious activities, organisations established for the benefit of animals or plants, debts and liabilities, reclaimable VAT, travel outside the United Kingdom, and gifts or projects intended solely for entertainment purposes.
