Open Call: Disability Advocacy Support Program (Australia)

Deadline Date: July 16, 2026

The Disability Advocacy Support Program – Service Delivery is a competitive Australian Government grant supporting organisations to deliver individual advocacy services for people with disability, their families, carers, and kin across defined service areas in Australia.

The program supports the delivery of individual disability advocacy services that improve outcomes for people with disability, particularly those experiencing significant exclusion or higher risk of harm. It focuses on three equally prioritised areas: advocacy that supports material improvements aligned with national outcome areas, advocacy that assists engagement with NDIS service providers to improve plan-related outcomes, and advocacy that improves access to broader supports and community participation services. The program also supports outreach to isolated individuals, partnerships with community organisations, data collection for monitoring and evaluation, and limited systemic advocacy targeting local and government stakeholders.

Eligible applicants include Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander corporations, companies, incorporated associations, or trustees acting on behalf of eligible entities. Applicants must be not-for-profit organisations established for community service purposes and registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Organisations are required to demonstrate a mission aligned with advancing the rights of people with disability and must hold or be working toward compliance with the National Standards for Disability Services. Applicants must also comply with the National Redress Scheme and must not be subject to a banning order under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013. Consortia applications are permitted where there is a lead organisation that meets eligibility requirements and takes full accountability.

The program provides total funding of AUD 184 million over six years under the Disability Advocacy Support Program – Service Delivery stream. Funding allocations by financial year are AUD 14.5 million for 2026–27, and AUD 33.9 million annually from 2027–28 through 2031–32. There is no maximum grant amount per applicant. Funding is intended to support the delivery of disability advocacy services, including outreach activities, partnerships, limited systemic advocacy, data collection, and related service delivery functions. Funded activities are expected to operate from November 2026 until 30 June 2032, although some grants may conclude by 30 June 2029.

Evaluation considers the applicant’s capacity and organisational capability, alignment with program objectives, quality and feasibility of service delivery models, and the ability to deliver advocacy services to priority and high-need groups. Successful applicants enter into a Commonwealth grant agreement and are required to meet ongoing reporting and service delivery obligations, including milestone-based performance monitoring where applicable.
