Deadline Date: June 26, 2026
The “Proof of Concept for Technology / Knowhow Applications” Programme is offering to support the preliminary investigation of industrial applications for innovative technologies and knowhow in Cyprus.
The focus areas of the programme include proof of concept development, technology and knowhow applications, industrial application potential, technological development and innovation, smart growth, and projects aligned with the Priority Sectors of the Smart Specialization Strategy 2023–2030.
The programme aims to provide Host Organisations with the opportunity to assess and verify the industrial application potential of technologies or knowhow before progressing to broader technological development and innovation projects. The initiative forms part of Pillar I, “Smart Growth,” and supports projects connected to the designated priority sectors under the Smart Specialization Strategy 2023–2030.
Eligible beneficiaries under the programme include Research Organisations, Enterprises, and Other Organisations. The programme supports activities that contribute to evaluating the commercial and industrial potential of technologies and innovative solutions.
The total programme budget is €1,000,000, including €800,000 allocated to Budget Category I and €200,000 allocated to Budget Category II. The maximum funding available per project is €40,000. Projects funded under the programme may have a duration of up to nine months.
Eligible costs under the programme include personnel costs, instruments and equipment costs, external services, travelling abroad, consumables, other specific costs, and overheads. Proposal budgets will be calculated using the simplified cost method based on personnel costs plus 40% of personnel costs to cover the remaining project expenses.
The programme also specifies that beneficiaries participating for the first time in the RESTART 2016–2020 Programmes are required to apply the simplified “Standard Scales of Unit Costs” method for calculating personnel costs.
