The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs has launched a third call for proposals to support Ukraine’s economic recovery and reconstruction by encouraging private investment from Swiss companies operating in Ukraine.
The focus areas include economic recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine, private sector investment, industrial modernization, infrastructure development, renewable energy, agribusiness, digital infrastructure, and Swiss-Ukrainian economic cooperation.
The programme aims to support Ukraine’s reconstruction and recovery by funding investment projects implemented by Swiss companies with legal entities in Ukraine. It seeks to strengthen economic resilience, promote long-term commercial viability, and enhance bilateral economic cooperation between Switzerland and Ukraine.
The scope of the call covers investment projects involving the construction, reconstruction, or modernization of production and operational assets in Ukraine. These projects may include new investments as well as rebuilding damaged infrastructure, with activities spanning development, construction, commissioning, and initial operational phases.
Priority sectors under the programme include construction materials, heavy machinery and industrial manufacturing, renewable energy generation and distribution, transportation infrastructure, agribusiness and food value chains, and IT and digital infrastructure.
The programme has an overall budget of up to CHF 50 million. Individual SECO contributions will range from CHF 3 million to CHF 10 million per selected proposal, depending on project scope and evaluation outcomes.
Eligible applicants include Swiss companies registered in Switzerland before or by 01.01.2023 with majority ownership of a subsidiary or entity in Ukraine, which must be registered by the submission deadline of Stage 1 of the call.
