Applications open for Research in Enterprises Programme (Cyprus)

The focus areas of the programme include research and technological development, innovation in enterprises, development of new or significantly improved products and services, commercialisation potential, industrial research, experimental development, prototype creation, testing and validation, private sector participation in RTDI activities, competitiveness enhancement, and economic growth.

The programme aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Cypriot enterprises by supporting the development of high value-added products, services, and production methods with commercial potential. It also seeks to increase private sector participation in research and innovation investments while contributing to economic growth and employment generation in Cyprus.

The programme supports enterprises involved in research, technological development, and innovation activities for the creation or significant advancement of products, services, and production methods. Supported activities may include prototype production, pilot operations, demonstrations, testing, and validation in environments that reflect real-life operating conditions.

Projects funded under the programme must be directly related to the core activities of the beneficiaries and should generate commercially valuable results. The programme does not support projects involving customary or routine modifications to products, services, production methods, or production lines, even where such modifications are considered improvements.

The total programme budget is €2,400,000, while the maximum funding available per project is €150,000. The maximum aid intensity for enterprises and other private sector organisations cannot exceed 70%. Projects funded under the programme are expected to be implemented within a duration of 12 to 18 months.
