Call for Submissions: Inspiring Asia Micro Film Festival 2026 (Philippines)

Deadline Date: July 06, 2026

The Inspiring Asia Micro Film Festival 2026 is inviting filmmakers, students, NGOs, and changemakers from the Philippines to submit impactful short films focused on the theme of Community Empowerment.

The festival is centred on the theme “Community Empowerment” under the tagline “Belonging, Resilience, and Thriving.” It highlights the importance of collective strength, mutual care, shared purpose, resilience, dignity, hope, social impact, storytelling, innovation, sustainability, scalability, creativity, and collaborative philanthropy. The festival also celebrates Asia’s diverse cultures, innovative spirit, and commitment to positive change through regional film festivals across Asia.

Inspiring Asia 2026 will be conducted through eight regional film festivals, including the Philippines alongside China, Indonesia, Mongolia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. The platform aims to amplify local voices and showcase stories that inspire awareness, dialogue, and positive social action across the region.

The call welcomes 3–6 minute films that focus on community empowerment and social impact. Applicants may submit personal stories, documentaries, creative narratives, or films highlighting community-based initiatives and solutions. The competition includes three main categories: Best Project Award, Best Micro Film Award, and Best AI Film Award.

The Best Project Award recognises impactful social initiatives with proven solutions that demonstrate sustainability and potential for scale. Winning nonprofit organisations or social enterprises will receive support to strengthen and expand their work. The Best Micro Film Award honours excellence in storytelling, cinematography, creativity, and thematic expression, while the Best AI Film Award celebrates innovative AI-generated or AI-assisted films with strong storytelling and social relevance.

Top entries from each participating region will advance to the Inspiring Asia Main Phase, where they will compete for grand prizes including USD 100,000 for the Best Project Award, USD 50,000 for the Best Micro Film Award, and USD 10,000 for the Best AI Film Award.

Applicants for the Best Micro Film Award must submit a film file along with production team information, a film synopsis, director’s statement, filming details, and required consent forms where applicable. The Best Project Award additionally requires a project summary, organisational overview, impact and growth plan, and optional supporting documentation such as impact statistics or media coverage. AI Film Award applicants must identify the AI tools used and explain how AI was integrated into the filmmaking process.

Judging for the festival will focus on filmmaking excellence, storytelling, creativity, social impact, innovation, sustainability, technical execution, and thematic relevance depending on the category entered.
