Deadline Date: September 03, 2026
The European Commission is inviting applications for Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs) to support large-scale implementation of climate action plans and strategies.
The program supports the implementation of National Energy and Climate Plans and Long-Term Strategies, national and regional climate adaptation strategies and plans, urban and community-based action plans for climate neutrality and resilience including climate-neutral cities initiatives, and national or sector-specific greenhouse gas mitigation strategies and roadmaps contributing to climate neutrality.
This funding opportunity is designed to support large, coordinated projects that implement climate strategies at regional, national, or transnational levels. The projects are expected to deliver concrete actions aligned with existing policy frameworks and contribute significantly to climate adaptation and mitigation goals. Applicants must demonstrate how their proposed actions will directly support the implementation of the targeted plans while mobilising additional complementary funding from EU, national, or private sources.
Projects should include a combination of core actions funded under LIFE and complementary actions financed through other mechanisms, ensuring long-term impact beyond the project duration. Proposals are also expected to incorporate capacity-building activities, stakeholder engagement, and coordination across different levels of governance. Strong emphasis is placed on measurable outcomes, including the level of implementation achieved, geographical coverage, and the ability to address specific climate risks and vulnerabilities.
Funding under this call typically ranges between EUR 10 million and EUR 25 million per project, with a total indicative budget of EUR 30 million allocated for this topic, supporting approximately two to three projects. The project duration is expected to range between 60 and 120 months.
Eligible applicants include legal entities, both public and private, established in EU Member States or other countries associated with the LIFE Programme.
