Deadline Date: July 31, 2026
The Nature-Based Tourism Program by the City of Gold Coast supports businesses in developing and enhancing sustainable tourism experiences that showcase natural and cultural assets.
The program supports the development of nature-based tourism experiences in natural settings, including activities that combine recreation, education, and cultural awareness, projects that promote environmental sustainability and conservation, initiatives that enhance visitor engagement with natural landscapes, and experiences that deliver economic, social, and cultural benefits to local communities.
The Nature-Based Tourism Program is designed to strengthen the Gold Coast’s tourism sector by encouraging both new and existing businesses to create or expand nature-based tourism products. These include eco-tourism activities, guided nature experiences, cultural tourism, and sustainable tourism offerings that align with environmental protection and long-term sustainability goals.
The Small Grants component provides funding between $1,000 and $100,000 to support projects that can be delivered within a shorter timeframe and require relatively lower investment, enabling businesses to activate or enhance nature-based tourism offerings efficiently.
The Large Grants component supports projects requiring funding greater than $100,000 and up to $500,000, focusing on more complex and high-impact initiatives such as infrastructure development, large-scale tourism experiences, and major enhancements that strengthen the region’s tourism potential.
Small grant applications are open from 1 May to 30 June, while large grant applications are open from 1 May to 31 July.
