The Perdekraal Wind Community is inviting applications to support the administration of Asset Based Community Development grant funding under its social and economic development initiatives.
The focus areas, of the initiative include community development and empowerment, grant administration, application review and screening, due diligence and site visits, financial recommendation and reporting, applicant feedback and capacity building, information management systems, data tracking and reporting, and implementation of the Asset Based Community Development methodology.
The appointed service provider will be responsible for managing pre-disbursement processes, including receiving and reviewing grant applications submitted either directly or through the Project Company. This includes verifying application completeness, conducting background checks, and performing site visits in coordination with designated project staff.
The service provider will also compile detailed reports on all applications received, including recommendations for funding approval and clear reasons for any rejections. Communication with applicants is an essential part of the role, requiring feedback on unsuccessful applications along with guidance to improve future submissions. Recommendations for capacity building interventions to strengthen the quality of future applications are also expected.
A key responsibility includes establishing and maintaining an effective information management system. This system must include a database of all applications and allow periodic access for the Project Company during the contract period and for a specified duration afterward. Reports must include detailed summaries of applicant operations and the potential impact of the requested funding.
Certain responsibilities remain with the Project Company, including advertising grant opportunities, drafting grant agreements, disbursing funds or procuring items for grantees, and conducting monitoring and evaluation after support has been provided.
