The Greencities Call for Startups is inviting applications to support innovative startups that address urban challenges in municipalities of all sizes and locations.
Greencities has established this call to recognize and promote startups that are actively developing innovative solutions to address the pressing challenges faced by urban environments. The initiative seeks to elevate the visibility of emerging companies whose projects contribute to the advancement of sustainable, resilient, and intelligent cities, regardless of the municipality’s size or location.
The program prioritizes solutions applicable to urban and municipal contexts in areas such as sustainability, energy, water, waste management, mobility, decarbonization, urban governance, resilience, digitalization of public services, and intelligent infrastructure. Selected startups are expected to demonstrate real-world impact and scalability in these domains.
The winning startup will receive a cash prize of €1,000, enhanced media visibility, promotional activities, branding opportunities, an information point at Greencities 2027, access to the event’s networking agenda, and the opportunity to present their project individually. Additionally, ten selected startups will benefit from professional visitor passes to Greencities 2026, access to B2B networking tools, and the chance to pitch their solutions to an evaluation committee.
Eligibility criteria include being a startup seeking investment, having a maximum of 5 years since registration (7 years for biotechnology, energy, industrial, or strategic sectors), not having previously benefited from this award, and having a registered office in one of the admitted countries. Finalists are required to attend the Greencities event.
