Deadline Date: September 10, 2026
The Water Wise Societies initiative within Impact Innovation invites collaborative actors in Sweden to jointly explore system-changing solutions for sustainable water management through pre-studies aimed at supporting the mission Sustainable Water for All 2050.
The focus of this call includes advancing sustainable water management across the entire “from source to coast” system, enabling system change for water sustainability, strengthening collaboration between industry, public sector, research organisations, institutes and civil society, and assessing the feasibility of continued research and development efforts that support Water Wise Societies’ mission of sustainable water for all by 2050.
This funding opportunity is designed for consortia of at least three partners, including at least one end-user from industry or commerce, who together wish to address complex societal water challenges with relevance for business and industry. The aim is to jointly explore the potential of innovative ideas and evaluate whether they can be developed further into impactful R&D initiatives that contribute to long-term water sustainability.
Projects funded under this call can run for up to 11 months and may receive up to SEK 600,000 in funding, with a maximum aid intensity of 70 percent. The supported projects are expected to begin on 30 November 2026 and must be completed no later than 31 October 2027.
Through these pre-studies, participating actors are expected to build stronger collaborative frameworks, deepen understanding of key water system challenges, and identify pathways for scalable and implementable solutions aligned with Sweden’s long-term water sustainability goals.
