Deadline Date: May 31, 2026
The Climate Catalytic Fund is currently accepting applications to support locally led climate adaptation projects that address displacement risks through small, fast, and flexible grants.
The focus areas of this fund include locally led climate adaptation actions, reduction of climate-related displacement risks, strengthening local ownership and institutional resilience, implementation of practical and scalable solutions, and mobilization of data-driven risk insights from climate displacement analysis into on-the-ground interventions.
The Climate Catalytic Fund operates within the Climate Mobility Innovation Lab and works in alignment with risk analytics from the Risk Index for Climate Displacement. It aims to bridge the gap in access to finance by providing rapid, small-scale funding to high-risk communities where larger climate funds are often inaccessible.
The fund supports initiatives that translate climate risk data into practical adaptation solutions implemented by local actors. It encourages collaboration and co-financing at the community level while ensuring strong monitoring and management through established local systems.
Funding is provided at provincial and project levels, with each province receiving up to USD 25,000. Individual projects can access between USD 5,000 and USD 25,000 depending on scope and need. The funding is intended for quick-impact adaptation activities that can be implemented within a short timeframe. Projects supported under this fund are expected to be implemented over a six-month period.
A wide range of applicants are eligible, including community-based organizations, local non-governmental organizations, women– and youth-led groups, disability-inclusive organizations, government entities, private sector actors, cooperatives, state-owned enterprises, financial institutions, faith-based organizations, charities, foundations, academic institutions, and combinations of these groups.
