The Open Challenge Program 9.0 invites startups and entrepreneurs to develop innovative IT-based solutions in healthcare and agritech sectors while supporting early-stage ventures through incubation and growth support.
The focus areas of this program include innovation in healthcare and agricultural technology products, services, and processes, startup development and commercialization potential, entrepreneurship and job creation, access to mentorship and technical training, business development and marketing support, intellectual property rights and patent facilitation, and access to incubation infrastructure and advanced technological tools.
The Open Challenge Program is designed to identify, support, and accelerate early-stage and prototype-based technology entrepreneurs working in healthcare and agritech domains. It aims to promote innovation-driven solutions that can be scaled for commercial use while contributing to employment generation and economic development.
Eligible applicants must be incorporated as a Private Limited Company under the Companies Act, a Registered Partnership Firm under the Partnership Act, or a Limited Liability Partnership under the LLP Act. Applicants must be registered within the last 10 years, and if not yet registered, must complete incorporation within three months of selection. The annual turnover must not exceed 100 crores rupees in any financial year since incorporation, and the entity must not be formed by splitting or restructuring an existing business.
Selected startups will receive access to a dedicated incubation facility in Gangtok equipped with advanced infrastructure. They will also benefit from technical and financial support, including seed funding and access to healthcare and agritech tools. The program provides mentoring and training from industry experts, along with guidance in marketing, networking, branding, and fundraising.
Additional support includes legal and intellectual property rights assistance, including patent facilitation and other legal advisory services. Participants will also undergo a three-month mentoring program focused on marketing strategies, technical development, branding, and fundraising to strengthen their business capabilities.
