Deadline Date: October 01, 2026
The European Commission is inviting grant applications to strengthen infrastructure, tools, and collaboration for advanced research and analysis on information integrity across the European Union.
The focus areas of this programme include development of research infrastructure for information integrity, creation and deployment of analytical tools for studying information manipulation, support for situational awareness in the information environment, data access mechanisms for researchers and civil society, collaboration under the Digital Services Act data access regime, sub-granting to third-party research and civil society actors, dissemination of research outputs, and long-term capacity building for information ecosystem analysis. The total funding available for this programme is €6,000,000.
This initiative aims to establish a common European research framework that enables advanced study of the information environment and supports efforts to safeguard information integrity. It focuses on building the necessary hardware and software infrastructure to enable secure and scalable research access across the EU.
The programme supports the development or acquisition of dedicated tools and computational systems that allow researchers and civil society organisations to analyse information manipulation and related risks. It also ensures that these tools and infrastructures are accessible through transparent and effective mechanisms.
A key element of the action is strengthening data access under relevant EU regulations, including gathering feedback from the research community on platform data access systems, identifying best practices and gaps, and contributing to improvements in access frameworks.
The framework also includes a structured sub-granting mechanism to distribute funding to third parties. This supports external research projects and tool development that build on the core infrastructure and contribute to improved understanding of information integrity challenges.
All activities are expected to be based on clear needs analysis, with a focus on quality, impact, and long-term sustainability. Proposals should prioritise scalable and transferable solutions that ensure long-term benefit to the research and civil society communities.
