The Open Challenge Program 9.0 under OctaNE CoE Guwahati invites startups and entrepreneurs to develop innovative IoT-based solutions for advancing agricultural technology.
The programme focuses on smart farming solutions, precision agriculture, automated irrigation systems, sensor-based soil and crop monitoring, AI-driven agricultural analytics, and drone technology for farming, while also supporting the development of IoT-based innovations that improve agricultural productivity and efficiency.
The initiative aims to incubate startups working in IoT solutions for agriculture, build a strong agritech ecosystem with mentorship, funding, and technical support, develop innovative solutions to address agricultural challenges in the region, enhance agricultural productivity through smart IoT applications, and promote a culture of innovation and technology adoption among students and professionals in the agricultural sector.
This programme is based at the IoT in Agriculture Centre of Excellence in Guwahati, Assam, and is designed to accelerate early-stage tech entrepreneurs working in agritech. It provides support through strategic networking, seed funding, mentorship, training, marketing assistance, patent facilitation, and access to advanced incubation facilities and tools.
Eligible applicants must be registered as Private Limited Companies, Registered Partnership Firms, or Limited Liability Partnerships under relevant Indian laws. Applicants must have been incorporated within the last 10 years, and if not yet registered, must complete registration within three months of selection. The annual turnover must not exceed Rs. 100 crore in any financial year since incorporation, and the business must not be formed through restructuring of an existing entity. Applicants must be working on innovation, development, or improvement of agritech products, services, or processes with potential for employment generation and economic growth.
