The Innovative Crafts and Trades funding program is requesting applications to support small businesses and founders in Vienna who are developing new products, services, and process innovations to strengthen local supply and community needs.
The program focuses on supporting business innovation, improving process efficiency, enabling investments in construction and technical equipment, covering material and equipment costs, supporting licensing and concession expenses, funding external consulting services, supporting marketing activities, training and upskilling employees, and covering personnel costs related to new solutions and processes.
This funding initiative is designed to encourage small businesses with fewer than 50 employees and entrepreneurs in Vienna to introduce fresh ideas and innovative solutions for everyday goods and services. It aims to strengthen neighbourhood economies by supporting new and improved offerings that respond to local needs.
The program provides financial support for a wide range of eligible costs associated with implementing innovative business solutions. These include investments in infrastructure and machinery, acquisition of materials and equipment, professional services such as consulting, marketing campaigns to promote new solutions, and employee training delivered by external providers. Personnel-related costs linked to project implementation are also included.
Projects must have a minimum size of 20,000 euros and can run for a maximum duration of up to two years. This structure ensures that funded initiatives are substantial enough to deliver meaningful innovation while remaining time-bound and focused on implementation.
Eligible applicants include small businesses operating in Vienna with fewer than 50 employees, as well as founders who are establishing new ventures in the region. The program specifically targets enterprises engaged in goods or services for everyday needs and those seeking to introduce innovative approaches to local supply systems.
All funded projects must demonstrate alignment with the program’s objective of improving efficiency and introducing innovative processes within crafts and trade-based businesses.
