The OctaNE Open Challenge Program (OCP) for Animation at the Center of Entrepreneurship in Shillong invites startups and entrepreneurs to develop innovative animation-based solutions while receiving comprehensive support to grow and scale their ideas.
The program aims to incubate startups working in the domain of animation, create a conducive ecosystem with mentorship, funding, and technical support, develop innovative solutions addressing regional challenges, and foster a culture of innovation and technology adoption among students and professionals in the animation sector.
The Open Challenge Program focuses on supporting early-stage tech entrepreneurs by providing a strong foundation through incubation and strategic assistance. It offers access to networking opportunities, seed funding, mentorship, training, marketing support, patent facilitation, and advanced incubation facilities, helping startups accelerate their growth and bring innovative ideas to life.
Eligible applicants must be registered entities such as Private Limited Companies, Registered Partnership Firms, or Limited Liability Partnerships, incorporated within the last ten years. Applicants not yet registered must complete their registration within three months of selection. Additionally, startups should have an annual turnover not exceeding Rs. 100 crore and must not be formed through restructuring of an existing business. The program specifically targets ventures working on innovation or improvement of animation-based products, services, or processes with strong potential for employment generation and wealth creation.
The initiative is based in Shillong, Meghalaya, where the Animation Center of Entrepreneurship provides a dedicated environment for technological advancement. It emphasizes animation-driven applications across diverse sectors, including healthcare and medical visualization, research and education processes, job training simulations, interactive storytelling, design prototyping, architecture and real estate visualization, virtual labs, legal forensic animation, and marketing and brand experiences.
Selected startups will benefit from a wide range of facilities and services. These include access to a fully equipped incubation space with round-the-clock availability, technical and financial support through specialized animation labs, mentoring and training from industry experts, and assistance in market development and business networking. The program also provides legal and intellectual property support, enabling startups to secure patents and manage related processes effectively.
