Deadline Date: April 16, 2026
The European Commission is seeking applications to strengthen research and innovation funding efforts addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change and health.
The initiative focuses on establishing an international multilateral platform, strengthening coordination and alignment among research funders, enhancing communication and knowledge-sharing across stakeholders, developing governance structures and operational frameworks, supporting the creation of a forward-looking workplan, facilitating collaboration between research, policy, and civil society actors, and promoting dissemination through communication tools and outreach activities.
The call aims to build a structured and collaborative global network of research and innovation funders working at the intersection of climate and health. It emphasizes the need for coordinated action across disciplines and sectors to better understand climate-related health vulnerabilities and to support the development of sustainable and effective interventions.
A financial capacity check is usually required for coordinators requesting EUR 500,000 or more, except for public bodies, international organisations, and low-value grants under EUR 60,000, and may also apply to other applicants or any entity guaranteeing financial capacity.
Eligibility is open to any legal entity, including those established outside the European Union and international organisations, provided they meet the conditions set under Horizon Europe regulations. Entities must register in the Participant Register to obtain a Participant Identification Code before grant agreement signing. Affiliated entities and associated partners may participate under specific conditions, and entities without legal personality may exceptionally take part if they can assume legal obligations.
