Deadline Date: April 15, 2026
R|ElanTM invites designers and organizations to apply with original concepts that integrate circularity and sustainability across the textile and fashion value chain.
The focus areas and priorities include circularity in design and processes across fibre production, manufacturing, and post-consumer stages, use of recycled materials, innovative alternative dyes, resource efficiency, waste reduction, measurable environmental and social benefits such as waste reduction, pollution control, improved livelihoods, better working conditions, and solutions that address multiple circular and sustainable elements. Applicants are required to demonstrate how circular principles are embedded into their design philosophy and operational processes. Concepts should clearly reflect sustainable practices and show tangible environmental and social impact through their approach to materials, production, and lifecycle considerations.
There is no application fee for this challenge, and applicants must complete the registration process by activating their account through email verification. Applications will be evaluated based on the country where the business or label is officially registered, and eligibility is limited to organizations or labels that have been operating for eight years or less. Both individual and consortium applications are accepted, with consortiums consisting of up to four professionals collaborating on a final collection. All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not previously showcased, with strict adherence to originality and transparency regarding any sources of inspiration.
Applications will undergo a detailed review and scoring process conducted by program partners, followed by evaluation from a jury comprising experts, designers, media professionals, educationists, activists, sustainability organizations, and representatives from R|Elan™, Reliance Brands Limited, and the United Nations in India. Final selections will be based on quality, innovation, originality, marketability, adherence to circular principles, and the potential for business growth.
Shortlisted and finalist applicants are required to fund the creation of their collections, including looks for jury events and final showcases at Lakmé Fashion Week. Finalists must participate in in-person events, fittings, mentorship sessions, and content creation activities as scheduled by the organizers, with comprehensive showcase support provided for the final presentation in Delhi, India.
