The Solar Enterprise and Skills Program is a youth-focused initiative designed to equip young people with technical training in solar energy and entrepreneurial skills to support careers in the clean energy sector.
The program focuses on solar PV installation training, maintenance and troubleshooting skills, safety protocols, enterprise development, financial literacy, leadership development, customer engagement, mentorship from industry professionals, and opportunities for internships with solar companies and clean energy organizations.
The Solar Enterprise & Skills Program is structured as a three-week intensive training experience that combines technical instruction with business development education. Participants receive hands-on training in solar photovoltaic installation, learning practical skills required for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar systems while following appropriate safety standards.
Alongside the technical training, the program also provides knowledge in enterprise development to help participants explore business opportunities within the solar energy sector. Training in financial literacy, leadership, and customer engagement is included to support participants in building sustainable businesses or improving their ability to work in the renewable energy industry.
Participants may also benefit from mentorship provided by industry professionals, offering guidance on career development and practical insights from the clean energy sector. After completing the training, participants may be connected with internship opportunities with solar companies and organizations working in renewable energy.
The program will select twenty-five motivated young people who are interested in gaining both technical and entrepreneurial skills related to solar energy. Applicants who demonstrate strong interest in renewable energy, entrepreneurship, and creating community impact are encouraged to apply.
