Create the Future of Cancer Tech: Join the Cancer Tech Accelerator (UK)

Deadline Date: March 20, 2026

The Cancer Tech Accelerator is a dedicated initiative designed to help oncology academics transform groundbreaking research into viable cancer technology startups.

The programme focuses on IP strategy, NHS procurement, market dynamics, oncology expertise, market access, clinical validation, growth strategies, investor readiness, and the development of innovative solutions that improve the lives of cancer patients, including advancements in imaging and diagnostics.

The Cancer Tech Accelerator serves as a structured platform for researchers seeking to evaluate the commercial potential of their oncology innovations. Through targeted workshops and expert mentorship, participants gain the entrepreneurial knowledge and business skills necessary to transition from academic research to startup development. The programme is specifically designed to equip innovators with practical insights into navigating the cancer technology landscape.

Participants will join the United Kingdom’s largest accelerator dedicated to oncology. The programme offers online and hybrid educational workshops tailored to the cancer tech journey, ensuring accessibility and flexibility. In addition to structured learning, innovators benefit from bespoke mentoring delivered by international experts with deep knowledge of oncology, market access pathways, clinical validation processes, and business growth strategies.

A key component of the accelerator is its strong investor engagement. Participants receive introductions to leading medtech investors and are given the opportunity to pitch to top funds, strengthening their ability to secure future investment. While grant funding may be available for certain projects at the end of Phase I, eligibility depends on the research focus, alignment with the objectives of supporting organisations, and the strength and innovation of the team behind the venture. Successful projects may also access award funding in Phase II to further catalyse their ideas.

The accelerator welcomes innovators from across the cancer tech ecosystem. Applications are open to students, PhDs, post-doctoral researchers, early career researchers, academics, lecturers, group leaders, industry professionals, and entrepreneurs. Both individuals and teams are encouraged to apply. Importantly, prior funding is not a requirement. Anyone with a novel idea or technology aimed at improving outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients is invited to participate.

By combining education, mentorship, investor exposure, and potential funding opportunities, the Cancer Tech Accelerator provides a comprehensive pathway for oncology innovators ready to translate research into real-world impact.
