The Forest of Dean District Council is offering a Business Start Up Grant to support local entrepreneurs and social enterprises in turning their ideas into reality.
The grant focuses on supporting research and development, energy-efficient and/or renewable energy installations, research, development, and staff training, premises, equipment and product or service launch, and support for agricultural, horticultural, and aqua-cultural based projects.
This initiative is designed to help locally based businesses and constituted social enterprise organisations grow sustainably while contributing to vibrant and thriving towns, villages, and business hubs across the Forest of Dean. Applicants can apply individually or in partnership, with a maximum grant of £1,000 available per application. The funding can be used for a variety of start-up activities, including investing in premises, purchasing equipment, launching products or services, and implementing clean technologies that enhance energy efficiency.
The scheme reflects the council’s commitment to supporting innovation and sustainable growth in response to the fast-changing global economic landscape. By providing financial support for new business ventures, the council aims to encourage creativity, stimulate local economies, and promote low-carbon initiatives within the district. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to submit their ideas and explore opportunities for development and expansion with the backing of this grant.
