The Villgro is requesting applications for its SAAF Cities 2.0 Programme to support the scaling of deployable, high-impact innovations focused on urban waste and wastewater management in India.
The focus areas, objectives, priorities, and themes of the programme include digitisation of waste, waste-to-value and waste-to-energy solutions, wastewater management, lake restoration, sustainability, and the transition to a circular economy.
SAAF Cities 2.0 aims to support startups that are ready to deploy practical solutions capable of creating measurable impact in urban environments. The programme focuses on innovations that can be implemented at scale and contribute to improving how cities manage waste and wastewater systems.
The programme will support three or four startups operating across the identified priority areas over a duration of twelve months. Selected startups will benefit from access to a grant pool of INR 2.4 crore, along with technical assistance and specialised mentorship to help strengthen deployment and impact.
Eligible applicants must be deployment-ready startups with proven pilots or early commercial traction. Enterprises applying under this programme must also be prepared to work closely with Urban Local Bodies to support implementation within city environments.
