Deadline Date: July 07, 2026
The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation has launched proposals for its Large Grant Funding Window Call for 2026–2027 to support environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives in Bhutan.
The thematic focus areas for this call include Preserving Biological Diversity, Enabling Human–Wildlife Coexistence, Mitigating and Adapting to Climate Change, and Addressing Adverse Impacts of Development on the Environment.
This funding opportunity is designed in accordance with the objectives defined in the Bhutan Trust Fund’s Royal Charter, the priorities of the Royal Government of Bhutan’s 13th Five Year Plan, and insights gathered through stakeholder consultations. Applicants are expected to ensure that their proposed projects align with the stated thematic areas and, where relevant, incorporate considerations related to gender equality as well as social and environmental safeguards.
Agencies outside the Royal Government of Bhutan are required to submit a duly filled project concept note, available for download from the official website, either in hard or soft copy to the office of the Bhutan Trust Fund or via email as a single PDF document to the designated contact person.
Agencies under the Royal Government of Bhutan must route their proposals through their parent central agency, where applicable, and further through the Department of Macro-Fiscal and Development Finance under the Ministry of Finance. Their completed concept notes should similarly be submitted either in hard or soft copy or via email as a single PDF document.
Further information regarding the Large Grant Funding Window and application materials can be accessed through the Bhutan Trust Fund’s official website or by contacting the Environment and Climate Change Services.
