The governments of Germany and Israel have launched a call for proposals to support joint research and development projects aimed at creating innovative products, services, and technologies with strong market potential.
The focus areas, include international research and development collaboration, development of innovative products and applications, creation of technology-based services and methods, commercialization of research outcomes, market-oriented innovation, cross-border cooperation between German and Israeli partners, and participation in the Eureka network for market-focused R&D projects.
The application must be in line with the ZIM regulation, e.g. it must be in the German language. Support is rendered in the form of a grant amounting to 60% of the project costs, which are limited to 450,000 euro per industrial partner.
The initiative supports collaborative projects that seek to develop ready-to-market solutions across all technological and application areas. Selected projects will receive support through public funding mechanisms provided by the respective national authorities, with projects applying for a Eureka label that recognizes international market-oriented research and development cooperation.
The programme is managed through cooperation between the relevant innovation and economic authorities in Germany and Israel and operates in line with Eureka Network procedures. Participating organizations receive assistance during proposal preparation, evaluation, monitoring, and the Eureka application process.
Project consortia must include at least one commercial company from Germany and one commercial company from Israel. Research institutes and universities may participate as additional partners or subcontractors according to national funding regulations. Organizations and academic institutions from other countries may also participate under applicable Eureka and national funding rules.
Projects are expected to demonstrate clear added value arising from international collaboration, including knowledge exchange, access to research infrastructure, commercial opportunities, or new application areas. The contribution of partners from both countries must be evident throughout the project.
Eligible proposals must represent international cooperation focused on the research or development of an innovative product, process, or service intended for commercialization. Projects must have a civilian purpose, and no single organization or country may account for more than 70 percent of the total project budget.
