The Digital Empowerment Foundation and Just AI Initiative has announced the 3rd Just AI Awards 2026, inviting ethical AI innovators across the Asia Pacific region to showcase solutions driving meaningful social impact.
The Just AI Awards honor impactful AI-based projects, initiatives, and solutions that address social and digital divides at the grassroots level while promoting community resilience, equity, and inclusion.
The theme of the awards is Ethical AI Solutions for Social Good, focusing on AI tools, platforms, and frameworks designed with principles of equity, inclusion, accountability, and sustainability. Under the AI for Social Good category, the awards recognize impactful AI-driven solutions that address pressing social, economic, and public challenges.
The awards also emphasize ethical data practices, gender justice, universal internet access, data justice, community data ownership, participatory AI development, transparency, accountability, measurable real-world impact, and the potential for scalability and replication.
The awards are open to startups, researchers, civil society organisations, youth leaders, government institutions, and technologists. Eligible solutions should be market-ready or actively deployed with real-world users.
Applicants are required to complete and submit the application form. Shortlisted entries will be evaluated by an expert jury, and the winners will be announced during the Just AI Awards Ceremony at the Digital Citizen Summit 2026.
