Town of Peace River Business Grants Program (Canada)

Deadline Date: May 8, 2026

The Town of Peace River offers financial support to businesses aiming to expand, revitalize, or enhance tourism experiences within the community.

The program focuses on stimulating business development, supporting continued local employment, encouraging reinvestment in buildings and property, and developing tourism-based products and services.

The program centers on two key grants: the Business Revitalization Grant and the Tourism Enhancement Grant. The Business Revitalization Grant prioritizes exterior improvements to buildings and property, emphasizing accessibility, safety, aesthetics, and security, including CPTED (crime prevention through environmental design) enhancements. The Tourism Enhancement Grant supports the development or expansion of new tourism-based products or experiences, including eligible signage through the “All Sign Up Alberta” program, and covers costs such as advertising, application fees, capital items, labor, and other related expenses.

The Business Revitalization Grant is designed to support property owners or authorized applicants undertaking improvement projects valued at a minimum of $5,000, with grant amounts ranging from $2,500 to $25,000. The grant covers up to 50% of the total project cost for the first $5,000 and up to 25% of the remaining costs, provided all necessary permits are obtained and contractors hold a Town business license. Applicants must acknowledge the Town in promotional materials, and labor supplied by the applicant is not reimbursable.

The Tourism Enhancement Grant targets individuals or businesses located in Peace River who are creating or expanding tourism offerings that diversify the town’s attractions and draw visitors. The grant ranges from $2,000 to $5,000 and can be used to offset startup or expansion expenses, including advertising, capital items, and labor. Events are not eligible, and funds cannot be used for maintaining current operations. Applicants must submit a complete application and ensure the project is feasible.

Both grants require that no work begins until the application has been approved and all required permits are obtained. By offering these grants, the Town of Peace River encourages business growth, community revitalization, and a thriving tourism sector that benefits local residents and visitors alike.
